You could be seeking support with any therapist in North Carolina, but you're here with me, and I appreciate that.
As a kid, I was always the one people came to for help, and as the oldest child, supporting others through new spaces, places, and phases of life felt natural to me. After a few pivots and a gap year, my purpose became clear during my graduate internship at Dudley High School during COVID, where working one-on-one with students facing homelessness, food insecurity, anxiety, and depression—along with my experiences in the Student Athlete Academic Enrichment Program (SAAP) and Career Services at NC A&T State University—showed me that clinical work was my calling. Beyond my life experiences, understanding the lack of mental health resources and knowledge my ancestors lacked then and even now is the driving force for me to get up every day and do the work because my ancestors had to thug it out on their own, and as a therapist, I value real connection, transparency, and helping clients understand their mental health.
When I’m not in session, you’ll probably find me watching a podcast, spending time with family, or simply resting.
Music that gets me through different seasons: SZA, Jay-Z, and Sounds of Blackness
Movies or shows I’ll always stop and watch: Girlfriends, Insecure, and The Wood
Favorite Quote: “If you are silent about your pain, they’ll kill you and say you enjoyed it.” ― Zora Neale Hurston
